Nine of Cups
A smiling, well-fed man sits with arms crossed, a self-satisfied and content expression, with nine cups arranged like trophies on a curved display behind him. He looks like someone who has achieved all his dreams, enjoying the satisfaction of his achievements. The Nine of Cups is often called the "wish card," representing the fulfillment of heart's desires and great material and emotional satisfaction.
⬆ Upright Meaning
The Nine of Cups upright is one of the most joyous cards in tarot, carrying the message that your wishes will or have been fulfilled, and you are in a period of great satisfaction and happiness. Things you have worked hard to achieve — material abundance, emotional fulfillment, or personal goals — are receiving their deserved reward. Fully enjoy this hard-won happiness and be grateful for everything life has given you.
⬇ Reversed Meaning
The Nine of Cups reversed warns that despite outward satisfaction, a sense of inner emptiness may persist. Material abundance does not equal genuine happiness. It may represent overindulgence, greed, or fixation on sensory pleasure, requiring deeper spiritual meaning.
