How to Keep a Tarot Journal
A simple tarot journal method with a filled example, evening review and printable worksheet. No account or extra tools required.
Keep the entry small enough to finish
Record the date, your exact question, the cards and positions, your first interpretation and one next step. A few sentences are enough. You can use paper or the journal on our daily reading pages; no new app is required.
Our journal saves up to 1,000 characters in this browser. Daily readings and notes older than 30 days are removed when you next open a daily reading. Clearing browser data or changing devices can remove access. Keep important entries in your own backup. We do not send journal text to analytics.
A filled example
Question: “What can help me handle my workload?” Card: Nine of Wands, upright. First impression: I have kept going, but I am treating every task as urgent. Next step: I will ask which deadline can move before agreeing to another task.
Evening review: The difficult part was asking for a clearer priority. I expected criticism but received help. Next time, I will distinguish persistence from doing everything alone. This is a sample entry, not a claim that the card caused the outcome.
Review patterns without forcing a match
Once a week, compare your first impressions with what actually happened. Include readings that did not fit. Did you repeatedly describe uncertainty as danger, or interpret every positive card as a promise? Those habits can be more useful to notice than counting how often a card appears.
The printable reference page includes a blank daily worksheet. Print it or copy the fields into a notebook. Your record should help you make your own decisions, not create pressure to draw every day.
