The Tower
Lightning strikes a tall tower built on rock, blasting off its golden crown as two figures fall through the sky into flames below. The tower was built on false foundations — pride, illusion, faulty beliefs — and the lightning of truth has shattered what could not stand. The Tower is terrifying and necessary: it destroys only what must be destroyed to make way for genuine truth.
⬆ Upright Meaning
Upright, the Tower announces sudden, disruptive change — the collapse of structures built on unstable foundations. This may feel catastrophic in the moment, but it is ultimately revelatory and liberating. What is being destroyed was never truly sound. The crisis cracks open the shell of illusion to reveal the truth. Navigate this upheaval with courage; what emerges from the rubble will be far more real and solid.
⬇ Reversed Meaning
Reversed, the Tower may indicate that a necessary collapse is being resisted — you're clinging to a structure that must fall, and in doing so, prolonging the inevitable with increasing suffering. Alternatively, the disruption is happening internally rather than externally, a slower dismantling of outdated beliefs or self-concepts.
